Real name Raymond George Handley but played with Norths under the assumed name Merriman(his wife's maiden name) Norths were unaware of his true identity.
He had played 3rd grade with St.George but was let go by the club he then resided at Bradfield Park but played under the assumed name before being declared eligible. He was subsequently suspended for 4 matches for the deception.
