Rothman's UK Annuals indicate that Paul Daley was coach of Featherstone until some time in January 1981, and Vince Farrar took over in February. Featherstone Rovers' home match programmes (available at https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/programmes/) reveal that Keith Cotton was officially the caretaker coach for the home game against Hull FC on 25/1/81. The Featherstone Rovers blog writes that in his first season as Featherstone coach, Vince Farrar had a record of 4 wins and 10 losses (http://marklaspalmas.blogspot.com/2012/04/they-coached-rovers-vince-farrar.html). This lines up with his first game being on 1/2/81 against Bradford Northern.
